Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the Appliance Repair San Jose website at appliancerepairsanjose.org (the "site"). "Appliance Repair San Jose", "we" and "us" mean the operator of the site. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What the site is

The site is a directory of appliance and HVAC repair companies in San Jose and the Bay Area. Company details such as services, brands, service areas, fees, warranties, hours and licenses are taken from each company's own website, checked at the date shown on the listing. Companies change these details at any time, so what you see here may be out of date.

No endorsement or guarantee

Listing a company, showing a "Details verified" badge, or placing it near the top of a list is not a recommendation, endorsement or guarantee of its work, prices, licensing or insurance. "Details verified" only means the company's website matched the listed name, phone number and address when we checked. Recommended ordering is based on verification and how complete a listing is, and no company pays for placement.

We are not a party to repairs

Any agreement for repair, installation or maintenance is between you and the company you hire. We do not perform repairs, set prices, dispatch technicians or take payment for work. We are not responsible for the quality, timing, safety or outcome of any work, or for anything a company says or does.

Confirm before you book

Before you hire a company, confirm its current prices, diagnostic fee, warranty terms, license status and insurance directly with the company. You can check a contractor license with the Contractors State License Board. Figures shown on the site are the company's published figures at the time we checked and are not quotes.

Quote requests

When you send a quote request, we pass it to the companies you selected, up to three. We do not guarantee that any company will reply, or how quickly. Companies that receive your request may contact you by phone or email about it.

Reviews

You may post a review only about a company you actually hired, and only once per job. Reviews must be truthful, based on your own experience, and free of personal attacks, discriminatory language, threats, advertising, links or confidential information about other people. You keep ownership of what you write and give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit for length or clarity, and remove it. We may remove any review at our discretion, including reviews we cannot confirm. Reviews are the opinion of their authors, not ours.

Listings and claims

Businesses may claim their listing to update its details. By claiming a listing you confirm that you are authorized to act for the business and that the information you provide is accurate. We may ask for proof, may decline or reverse a claim, and may keep information from the company's public website alongside the details you give us. We may remove or edit any listing at any time, for example when a business closes or stops serving the area.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape or copy the directory in bulk; use automated tools to send requests, reviews or claims; post false reviews or claims; impersonate anyone; interfere with the site or its security; or use the site for anything unlawful. We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.

Intellectual property

The site's design, text, code and compilation of data belong to Appliance Repair San Jose or its licensors. Company names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. You may link to any page on the site.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appliance Repair San Jose and its owners, staff and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or from any dealings with a listed company. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.

Changes

We may change these terms by posting a new version here with a new date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
